Our Extended Area

Perhaps the best feature of Jefferson County is its situation within the tri-state area of Ohio, West Virginia & Pennsylvania. Its "best-of-both-worlds" location allows residents to enjoy both small town living and also the benefits of being a "suburb" of the exciting, fast-paced city of Pittsburgh.

Shop, take in a cultural or sporting event, or delight in an endless list of entertainment venues all within a short drive of Jefferson County. The Post-Gazette Pavilion is host to many national entertainment acts each year and is minutes from Steubenville. Jamboree In The Hills, the “Super Bowl” of country music, near St. Clairsville, Ohio draws thousands of country music fans each year. Pittsburgh is home to four professional sports teams including the Penguins, Pirates and the four-time Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers. Art and music lovers will find ballet theatres, the symphony, museums, the opera and more. In addition, nearby Washington, Pennsylvania is home to the Frontier League Washington Wildthings. And shoppers will love the incredible selection of stores in neighboring Robinson Township.

Wheeling, to the south, is home to many historical sites, Oglebay Resort & Conference Center, Wheeling Race Track & Gaming Center as well as the semi-professional hockey team, the Wheeling Nailers. The Wheeling Symphony is celebrating its 75th anniversary. Also just a short drive from Jefferson County is Mountaineer Race Track & Gaming Resort in Chester, West Virginia.

The possibilities are exciting and extensive when it comes to employment and educational possibilities as well. Pittsburgh, Wheeling, Youngstown - all within a commutable distance and all homes to great schools and growing businesses. Pittsburgh alone is home to 13 colleges and universities while many commute to West Virginia's West Liberty State College, Bethany College and Wheeling Jesuit University.
